Dear Parents/ Carers,
We have had another great week at school. We welcomed our
first reception pupils, as well as some older children, to our school. I hope
they will all be very happy here. Clubs have started and our PE lessons with
the specialist coach and music and drama lessons with ‘Shoop’ from Artis are in
full swing.
Fun Day 2nd October
We will be having a school fun day on Thursday 2nd October. The
children will be allowed to come into school in their own clothes. They will be
spending some of the day playing games in the classroom. School lunch will be
an ’October Treat’ menu with burgers and chips, fish fingers and cake for
pudding. There will also be a vegetarian option: veggie sausage in a bun.
Please encourage your child to stay for school lunch that day.
INSET Days
The INSET days for the remainder of the school year are
as follows:
Monday 3rd November 2014
Monday 23rd February 2015
Friday 22nd May 2015
Monday 1st June 2015
The Governors have agreed to us having an INSET day on Friday 22nd May in order
that the May half term can be extended. This will allow parents to book a
holiday over these 11 days, rather than during term time.
Commendations
Congratulations to all of these children, who have
achieved something exceptional this week. Each of them received a certificate
in assembly:
Alfie Colton,
Frankie Shanahan, Annaliese Bimpong, Oliver Mahoney, Billy Newman,
Ruby Walton, Amber Gordon, Bradley Allen-Guinane, Freddie
French, Lou-Lou French,
Faye Newman and Lexi Webb.
Well done,
everyone!
School Nurse
The school nurse will be in school on Monday 13th October. Please
let us know if you would like to drop in and see her regarding any questions to
do with your child’s health/ wellbeing. She will be in school from 8.30am.
Hair
Please ensure that your child has her/his hair tied back for
school. Not only is it safer, less distracting and more hygienic; but it also
helps prevent the spread of head lice.
Attendance
Well done to Class 3 (Year 1 and 2, Mrs McCormack’s
class) for having the best attendance in the school this week at 98.7%.
Let’s all aim to achieve 100% next week!
Parents’ Open Afternoons
On the 17th
and 18th of November, we will be holding parents’ open
afternoons for you to look at your child’s work with them and have an informal
chat with the teachers. A parent consultation evening will be held in the
Spring Term for you to discuss your child’s progress in more detail. Dates and
times will be announced soon.
Email of Newsletters
Once all of the records have been updated, newsletters
will be sent via email. Please let us know if you do not have an email address
