23rd June 2014

Dear Parents/Carers,

PARENT GOVERNOR ELECTION

Thank you very much for returning your ballot papers for the election of our new parent
governor. We had a very good response with 31 of the 78 families in the school responding.

As you are aware, there were three nominations. Thank you to all the candidates, for putting themselves forward for election and thank you to those parents who voted.

After a count of the results today, I am delighted to confirm Danielle Davies as our new Parent Governor.

A reminder that on Friday afternoon (27th June) at 2.15 pm, the parents of pupils in Year 5 are invited to a talk in the school hall by the Schools Admissions Team about the primary to secondary transfer.

Tuesday, July 1st at 1.15, we shall (hopefully - weather permitting!) hold our Sports’ Day on the field at the rear of the school. Parents and carers are warmly invited. Could we please ask that dogs are not brought into the fenced area as we strive to keep this as clean and clear of animal mess as possible? Many thanks!

Please continue to send in your donations for the Summer Fayre which will be held on Friday July 4th.

Yours sincerely

V. A. Morris

Dear Parents/Carers of Class 1 and 2

Your child is taking part in a sport and cricket session on Monday 23rd June.  This session will take place at Bedfords Park Cricket Club.  Please bring your child to school as usual as we are walking to the venue.  Each child will wear their school P.E. kit.  I would recommend they bring a water bottle.  Unfortunately, we are unable to invite any spectators on this occasion.

During the day, the children will briefly visit Bedfords Park Visitor Centre and garden area.  The aim of this visit will be to learn from the team at the park and bring ideas back for our own garden at school.  The children may have an opportunity to purchase refreshments, so they may bring some money.
Please complete the lunch slip and consent form attached. Please note we can only accept consent forms fully completed.
Yours sincerely,

Mr R Evans

Dear Parents/Carers of Class 1 and 2

On Thursday 12th June Class 1 and Class 2 will be going to separate locations in Southend for an educational visit. Class 1 will be walking along the Thames Estuary from Leigh-on-Sea to Southend as part of their studies on Rivers. Class 2 will be going to Southend Planetarium as part of their studies on Space.
It is hoped, if weather permits, that both classes will meet up to have lunch at Southend or Shoebury before returning to school.  We intend to be back at school as close to 3 pm as possible depending on the traffic. School uniform should be worn and pupils may wish to bring up to £10 spending money in a named envelope.
Please select your child’s lunch option below and complete the consent form attached, which needs to be returned to secure your child’s place.  The school can only accept consent forms fully completed.  Please note that staff are no longer able to remind parents who have not submitted trip forms or phone home on the morning of the trip.
Yours sincerely,

Mr. R. Evans                                                 Mr. S. Drury
